After spending 18 years as an early childhood educator in a local public school district, I knew I wanted to work with families to directly support the social, emotional, and developmental needs of young children. I love to work with kids who have significant behavioral concerns or trauma. I take a neurodiversity-affirming approach when working with kids with diagnoses like autism or ADHD.
When working with kids, I focus on developing a strong relationship and trust with them through play therapy interventions. Coaching kids as they develop emotional regulation and communication skills helps them build self-efficacy and improves the relational dynamics at home. I take a collaborative approach with parents, drawing from my own experiences as a parent of a neurodivergent child. Together, we will brainstorm ideas about what interventions will work best for your child and family.
In addition to direct client therapy, I have a broad and deep understanding of the school systems, supports that are available, and how to access services when needed. I'm happy to help you navigate the confusing world of special education services.
I look forward to meeting with you and your child.
