Emily Kircher-Morris, LPCABOUT EMILY:
The number one thing that I love about my job is that I get to see the change as it happens for my clients. I worked as both a teacher for gifted programming and as a school counselor prior to entering private practice and those experiences give me the background to help the clients I serve. With experience in the schools, I am able to help families navigate the 504 and IEP process, advocate for neurodivergent learners, and collaborate with classroom teachers to help students find success. I specialize in counseling neurodivergent individuals, including those who are autistic, ADHD, twice-exceptional, and more. I feel that viewing the unique needs of these individuals through the lens of neurodivergence is necessary to be effective in helping them to grow. I frequently provide professional development to school districts on the topics of mental health and giftedness. I'm also the host of The Neurodiversity Podcast, which focuses on the development of high-ability and twice-exceptional people through the lifespan. |
