Through working at non-profit organizations, in the state of Colorado, and assisting youth and families within the foster care system, I have been further fueled to enhance my skills and abilities to work with, and guide, individuals navigating difficult seasons of their lives. I understand how necessary it is to have someone by our side to walk through life’s toughest challenges, when we can often feel alone or isolated within our experiences. Our journey through this life is not meant to be walked alone, yet alongside individuals who can help guide us to inner healing, and sometimes that means seeing a counselor who can walk alongside you for a portion of that journey. It is my desire to walk alongside you during this season of change.
I believe in a collaborative approach, integrating aspects of Interpersonal Therapy (IPT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) to take a wholistic approach in thoughts, feelings, and behaviors when working with clients of all ages. I provide a safe, non-judgmental environment for children to express themselves, explore feelings, and practice coping skills. When working with adolescents, I meet their needs through a variety of developmentally appropriate interventions, utilizing art-based approaches and TF-CBT if desired. When working with adults, I work in partnership with the individual to ensure we are working together to meet their desired outcome(s) in therapy.
All individuals are wholistic in nature, meaning not all the work can solely be done in the counseling room. My goal is to join in “the team,” working in tandem with children, caregivers, school staff (if desired), and extended family to problem-solve and develop adequate coping skills to assist in creating lifelong change.
If desired, I do provide a faith-based approach to counseling upon request.
I look forward to meeting you and feel honored in walking alongside you during this season.
