ABOUT SAMANTHA:
As a therapist for children, my passion is assisting kids and their families in being able to process stressors and events in everyday life. I believe children learn and communicate best through play. Often times kids struggle to articulate their thoughts and feelings with words, but find demonstrating them through play a much easier task. Children are resilient and have a lot of stressors in today’s society. I strive to offer a safe, accepting, and non-judgmental, therapeutic environment for kids to explore their true feelings. Through play, children are able to express their feelings and modify behavior, while also learning vital coping and social skills. As a previous School Counselor and Educational Diagnostician, I have a unique insight and an understanding of the challenges kids face in a school setting.This allows me to help families navigate both the 504 and IEP process as well as provide support to parents as they advocate for their children. My mission is to help children and families conquer challenges while growing socially and emotionally. With the proper support and a team surrounding them, children can and will reach their maximum potential. When working with kids, I focus on developing a strong relationship and connection based on trust through play therapy interventions and a variety of therapeutic modalities. |
