Counseling

Sometimes, individuals need help developing coping skills to overcome the general struggles of life.  At Summit Counseling Services, our team works with you to build on the skills that you already have. We set goals together and determine appropriate strategies that will help you to overcome what you are facing.

If there is a clinical concern, we are able to collaborate with your personal medical professional to determine the appropriateness of medication. Our staff is also experienced in working with schools to help coordinate appropriate services to meet your child's needs.

Counseling sessions are typically 45-minutes in length.  The duration of counseling varies based on the need of the client. For more specific information regarding counseling services, please click here.

Educational Assessments

Our testing services include an encouraging and non-threatening environment for the testing session, a fully scored report (including behavioral observations and educational recommendations), and a follow-up consultation (via email, phone, or in-person) to go over the results.  Tests offered include:
  • Cognitive Testing/IQ Testing: WISC-V, WPPSI-IV, WAIS-IV, SB5, KBIT-II
  • Achievement Testing: KTEA-III, WIAT-III
  • Attention Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder Screening: Vanderbilt Rating Scales and Delis Rating of Executive Functioning

Click on each link for more information about each type of screening.

IQ testing is often needed for a variety of reasons. IQ test scores can be submitted to school districts for placement in gifted education services, application to PEGS in Lindbergh and Pattonville, or Missouri Scholars Academy. Please request more information here.
